Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MEXT Scholarship Platform ("we", "us") is an independent test-preparation service for international students applying to Japanese government (MEXT) scholarships. We are not affiliated with the Japanese government or the Ministry of Education.

2. Data we collect

Account data: your email address and encrypted password, stored via Supabase (a GDPR-compliant infrastructure provider).
Payment data: payments are processed by Creem (creem.io). We do not store your card number or billing details — these are handled entirely by Creem's PCI-compliant systems.
Usage data: which practice questions you attempted, your scores, and study progress. This data is linked to your account and used to track your progress.
Technical data: browser type, device type, and anonymised IP address collected automatically when you use the platform.

3. How we use your data

To provide and maintain your account and subscription.
To show your progress and study history.
To process payments and manage your subscription status.
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts). We do not send marketing email without your explicit consent.

4. Third-party processors

Supabase — authentication and database hosting. Data stored in the EU region.
Creem (creem.io) — payment processing. Creem acts as the Merchant of Record for subscriptions.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data retention & deletion

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@mextexams.com. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Cookies

We use only functional cookies required for authentication (session token stored in local storage). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data. Contact us at support@mextexams.com for any data requests.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Refund Policy

All purchases on MEXT Scholarship Platform are for digital content delivered immediately upon payment. Because access to the platform and its content is granted instantly, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued.

If you believe there is a billing error or technical issue preventing access to content you paid for, contact us at support@mextexams.com and we will investigate promptly.
